Greg passed away after a short stay at St Anthony’s in Lakewood on May 26, 2023.
Greg was born to Douglas and Cynthia Jones in Fort Morgan Colorado on January 14, 1987. He lived his whole life in Brush but had always hoped to go somewhere else someday. Growing up Greg was a wrestler, football player, baseball player, Cub Scout, and a Boy Scout, earning his Eagle Scout Award in 2005. Greg acquired the nickname “Jonesy” from his friends while he played sports and it stuck with him the rest of his life. Greg graduated from Brush High School in 2006. Greg also graduated from MCC in 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science in Collision Repair Technology.
Greg had worked for a few different companies around Morgan County but spent the last 10 years working for A&R Automotive in Brush as their Tire Tech.
Greg lived his life in the fast lane, always game to try anything new especially if it meant that he could drive fast. He gave his parents a run for their money from the very start and there was no slowing him down. Greg also loved to spend his time making things in his shop whether this was refinishing furniture, making new furniture out of wheels or tires and whatever he could find laying around, or helping a friend work on a project.
Greg was always a jokester and a prankster, and he could find a way to make just about anyone laugh or smile. He cherished all his friends like they were family and was there for anyone who needed him. Greg believed that family was more than just blood and he had many people that he considered family. Greg also didn’t pull any punches in life; he wasn’t afraid to tell someone the way it was or the way he thought it should be.

Greg spent his whole life loving and protecting those that he cared for, he was willing to protect anyone that he felt needed him whether this was family or his friends. This desire to protect took on a whole new meaning when it came to his nephew Caelum and nieces Joslyn and Harlow. His nieces and nephews meant the world to him, and he was always down for a birthday water fight, cruising around, playing with firecrackers or working on a project in the shop. He and his sister shared a close bond and always had each other’s backs no matter the circumstances. Greg did not have any children of his own, but he did have his dog, Ozzy, that he always called “Son” that went with him everywhere but work.
Greg is preceded in death by his father Douglas Jones; his paternal grandfather, Merton Jones; and maternal grandmother, Betty DeLong.

Greg is survived by his mother, Cynthia Jones; his sister Desirae (Tim) Martin; nephew, Caelum; nieces, Joslyn and Harlow; his paternal grandmother, Helen Jones; aunt, Jody (Kevin) DeKorte;  many other family members; and his many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on July 15, 2023, starting at 11am and continuing until the last person leaves. Location 407 Turner St Brush CO, 80723. All family and all friends are welcome to attend and share stories of Greg and to celebrate the man that everyone cherished.
