Gerrard David Flores was born in Brush, Colorado on June 5,1968 to Jennie Mata and Gonzalo Flores.  He was the 12th of 13 children. He graduated from Brush High School in 1986 and got his Associate degree from Northeastern Junior College in Business.  
Those who knew Gerrard would say that he was full of life.  His kindness and compassion to others was contagious.  He never knew someone as a stranger for long.  He was often quick to make people laugh and his presence filled the room. He worked for several companies throughout his lifetime, but his passion was for officiating.  He officiated Football, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling and most recently Volleyball. He was also a licensed minister and officiated several family and friend’s wedding ceremonies. Gerrard passed away doing what he loved, which was mentoring officials and coaches and leading a wrestling tournament. His highest values were family, friends and sports. He was known for impacting kids. He had a passion for supporting and spending time with his sons, Trea’ and Tristin as well as his Grandson, Hendrix.  He delighted in traveling all over to see and support his nieces and nephews as they competed in various sports and activities.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Jennie Mata, his father, Gonzalo Flores, his sisters, Cynthia Meza, Diana O’ Brien, and one brother, Ronnie Flores.
He is survived by his fiancé, Rene McElhany, his two sons, Trea’ G Flores and Tristin Rene’ Flores from his previous marriage to Christine Law, his daughter-in-law Charlie Flores and Grandson Hendrix Flores. His Stepfather, Jose Mata and siblings Robert Joseph Meza, Teresa Meza, Victor Junior Meza, Randy Meza (Cheryl Meza), Juanita Meza, Shaire Chavez (Jose Irigoyen), Vincent Meza (Gladys Meza), Malessa Hernandez (Ismael Hernandez), Sonia Mendoza (Aaron Mendoza), and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and close friends will be from 2 - 4pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush with Rosary following.  The Memorial service and Celebration of Life will be at Brush High School,1600 Mill Street, Brush, Colorado at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 21st.
